THE STORY
MAKING IT HER OWN
Growing up as a young boy my mother would tell me stories of the various natural beauty treatments she would make for herself. I inherited her ingenuity, she knew beautiful.
As a young woman, my mother would make her own perfume by gathering orange flowers from the orange trees lining my grandmothers home in Tonaya, Jalisco. A beautiful pueblo in Jalisco, Mexican. This is my mothers birthplace .
1950 HOLLYWOOD BOTTLE
A GLAMOROUS 1950's round Hollywood bottle represents the decade in which my mothers was born .
As Strong as gold and as Mexican as the Golden age of Mexican Cinema the Gold Pump emphasizes the power of a woman who is strong, valuable and beautiful upon taking that one spritz.
WHY MUÑECA
This was my mothers nick name. It was given to her as a toddler. There are many people who claim they were the initiator. From what my mother told me. Her Dad used to call her her little MUÑECA (doll).
another story gives credit to her older sister who would buy them clothing and dress them up. My aunt was a dressmaker and for years worked as a master pattern maker.
Later in life, as I became a designer and was able to help her make her own dress I would think of her as my MUÑECA (doll).
But to be honest she was everyones MUÑECA (doll). AND SHE LOVED IT!
